Our Participants
Michigan Cake Wars 2024 is an annual competition seeking out Metro Detroit’s best Cake Makers. Bakeries from around Metro-Detroit will compete for the title of “Michigan Cake Wars Champion” Awards for Taste and Presentation will be up for grabs as a combined vote. Two Winners will be crowned, one by Participants for “Peoples Choice Award” and Another for “MCW Overall Champion” By Our Panel of Judges. Registration is limited to the first 15 Bakeries/Pastry Chefs to submit their registration.

Location
Michigan Cake Wars promotes and highlights local Bakeries, pastry chefs and their artistic expressions. The event will be located at the beautiful Villa Penna Banquet facility in Sterling Heights Michigan. 43985 Hayes Rd. Sterling Heights, MI 48313
Admission Information
Vip Admission Begins at 5:30pm and General Admission 6:30pm
Event Concludes at 11:30pm
What To Expect
Participants will receive the following:
- Two (2) – 8ft tables With White Linens
- (6) Custom Lanyards for your staff
- Large sign displaying your company Logo
Bakeries are strongly encouraged to bring promotional materials, decorations and additional equipment if required. Pop up Tents can be set up no larger than 10’ x 10’ if you plan to bring your own to set up within the venue. We will be providing the Plates and Utensils for your samples.
Requirements
Please bring a sign or chalkboard for your table listing your ingredients for people with allergies. All signs will have a generic allergy disclaimer. If you are Gluten Free, please list that you are!
Set up for the event takes place the Afternoon of the event date (February 29th) at 2pm. Please check in with event staff upon arrival. Early set up will be permitted if you contact us in advance.
Details
Participants will serve (1) featured cake sample for the competition. Each bakery will be asked to have 600 samples available for the event. These are small samples, recommended sample size 2" x 3" you will not be serving full slices of cake. Size will be at your discretion, what you feel will give your voters enough to have a full flavor profile. Bakeries Will have access to the Venues walk in coolers to place any Sheet Cakes or samples that need refrigeration.
Participants are strongly encouraged to only offer ONLY (1) flavor of cake to keep lines moving and voting fair. You will also display (1) Presentation cake of your choice at your table. Your Presentation cake may be a dummy cake on the inside, but ALL exterior components must be EDIBLE.
